Meghan and Harry 'likely' to share first picture of Lilibet on Duchess' 40th birthday

Meghan and Harry will "likely" share a family picture including their daughter Lilibet to mark the Duchess of Sussex's 40th birthday.

The Duchess turns 40 on August 4, and is reportedly planning to celebrate with friends at home in Santa Barbara, California.

Royal experts believe Meghan's milestone birthday could also be marked publicly by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Phil Dampier believes it could be the perfect opportunity for Meghan and Harry to share an updated family picture - - including little Lilibet - with their supporters.

He told the Sun: "I think it's likely we will see a picture of the family.

"It wouldn't surprise me if Meghan does release a pic of her with Lilibet to mark her 40th birthday, as they'll will want to emphasise what a happy family unit they are."

The birthday is largely expected to be a low-key affair on the couple's sprawling £11million property, with enough privacy to entertain their guests with food and drink sourced from local businesses.

A source said: “Megan wants a small gathering. About 65 people are invited, including her closest friends and family."

Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, believes the party would be at their mansion rather than somewhere in the public eye.

The royal expert said: "But it will perhaps be at home rather than in a restaurant - as they have wonderful grounds in which to give a party, and as they are intent on their privacy it would be inviting trouble to have it in a public venue."

She added that Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King are likely to be two famous pals that would attend.

In 2016, Meghan left a clue on what her birthday means to her.

On her now-deleted lifestyle website The Tig, she wrote: “My mom has always said that birthdays are your own personal New Year.

"Your own chance to make resolutions just for yourself and what you prognosticate for your year ahead."

The Duchess' previous birthdays have been marked in very different ways.

For Meghan's 36th, she and Prince Harry went to Botswana to carry out conservation work with the charity Elephants Without Borders.

Meghan celebrated her 37th birthday - her first as a Duchess - while she attended the wedding of Prince Harry's friends Charlie van Straubenzee and Daisy Jenks.
