Meghan and Harry blast 'small' cottage they were forced to live in during Netflix documentary

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have blasted the 'small' cottage they were made to live in following their wedding in their highly-anticipated Netflix documentary. The final part of 'Harry & Meghan' was released on Thursday morning with the beginning of the fourth episode focusing on the day of their wedding in 2018.

The newlywed Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved into Nottingham Cottage which is situated in the grounds of Kensington Palace in London, the Mirror reports. The allegedly cramped property with 'low ceilings' was previously home to Prince William and Princess Kate who lived there with their son, Prince George.

Meghan and Harry slammed their former home as they claimed it was not the grand palace everyone assumed they would be staying in as the former American actress said no one would have actually 'believed' the way they were living.

Harry revealed legendary chat show host, Oprah Winfrey interviewed him and Meghan last year in the cottage and was stunned by where the pair were living. She reportedly told the couple: "No one would ever believe it."

Harry said: "As far as people were concerned we were living in a palace. [But] we were living in a cottage on palace grounds.

"Kensington Palace sounds very regal of course, it does say palace in the name. But Nottingham Cottage was small."

"The whole thing was really small on a slight lean with low ceilings." Despite knowing his brother previously lived there, he joked: "Whoever lived there before must have been small."

Meghan added her husband would constantly hit his head in the cottage 'because he's so tall'. She said: "It was a chapter in our lives where I don't think anyone could believe what it was actually like behind-the-scenes."

In the second half of the documentary, Meghan claimed she was 'fed to the wolves' and Harry discusses how people allegedly 'lied to protect Prince William'.

The couple also open up about their serious concerns for their own protection after they lost their police protection funded by tax payers as a result of stepping down from their royal duties in 2020. Meghan explains: "Our security was being pulled.

"Everyone in the world knew where we were." Harry fearfully added: "I wonder what would have happened to us had we not got out when we did.

"I said, 'we need to get out of here'." In the opening three episodes, Harry speaks about how his priority was protecting his wife and children as the couple discuss the build up of events which led to their decision to leave the royal family.

Following the release of the documentary, other members of the royal family are apparently preparing to shut down any allegations coming from Harry and Meghan which they believe to be false.

A senior royal source said: "There is a completely united front from the King and his family concerning the numerous attempts to privately make peace with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, which sadly have once again resulted in the other side wishing to air their repeated grievances to the world.

"If there is a need to respond to anything in the upcoming series then you can be assured that response will be swift and robust." The Sussexes are believed to have signed eye watering deals thought to be over £100m with Netflix and Spotify after quitting the monarchy.
