SHILLONG: The Covid-19 recovery graph in Meghalaya continued to surge as 89 people recovered from the viral disease on Tuesday, taking the total number of recoveries up to 81,440.
As per the state health and family welfare department, 31 new cases have taken the total number of active cases up to 529.
Meghalaya has so far registered 83,415 confirmed Covid-19 cases, including 1,446 fatalities. East Khasi Hills, which includes capital Shillong and has been the worst-hit district in the state, registered 57 cases of recovery and 25 cases of fresh infections on Tuesday. The number of active cases in the district currently stands at 332.
The number of active cases in other districts too have been on the decline with West Khasi Hills logging 93 cases, West Jaintia Hills recording 43 cases, followed by Ri-Bhoi with 29 cases, West Garo Hills with 13 cases, East Garo Hills with seven cases, East Jaintia Hills and South West Garo Hills with three cases each and North Garo Hills and South Garo Hills with two cases each.
