Megastore Ikea has recalled over 3,700 baby bibs sold in the UK and has urged shoppers to stop using them

Furniture giant Ikea is urgently recalling baby bibs amidst fears the loose buttons could bring harm to tots.

Parents are urgently being told to stop using the bibs out of fears and concerns for their children’s safety.

The popular chain operates in multiple stores across the UK and in Scotland, with one in both Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Ikea is a household name, being the go-to place for families and young buyers to purchase easy-to-assemble homeware.

Now the loved brand is urging regular shoppers to return products which are affected by the recent recall.

Parents have been issued a warning to check if they have got a set of two bibs from Ikea which are part of the brands Matrva range. One is blue with green lining round the edges and other is red with yellow lining. Their product article number is 504.269.20.

The bibs were sold both in-store and online during the month of August for £2.50. The chain added that 3.796 of the bibs were sold in the UK.

In a statement on its website, IKEA said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding.”

Everyone who returns the item will be given a full refund which you don’t need proof of purchase for.

For more information, you can contact IKEA on 020 3645 0000.
