Love Island’s Megan Barton Hanson has hit out at boyfriend Wes Nelson’s Dancing on Ice partner, accusing her of blanking her at Sunday night’s live show and breaking up with her ex to make “headlines”.
Vanessa Bauer recently split from her boyfriend Louis Nathaniel, a move Barton Hanson has branded “tactical” in a scathing Instagram post.
“@vanessabauer_skates love that you decide to announce your breakup with your boyfriend on the night of your 1st performance with my boyfriend!” she wrote.
“You’ve never reached out to me once or invited me to watch you train, it pained you to introduce yourself to me last night you didn’t even look me in the eye LOL.
“Hope your tactical breakup got you the headlines you wanted babe @wes.nelson.”
Bauer and Nathaniel were said to have split over his fears the professional skater was growing close to Nelson, who has been dating Barton Hanson for six months.
Bauer denied the “b******” reports, telling her Instagram followers that the end of their two and a half year relationship was not related to Dancing on Ice.
She wrote: “Louis and I split for absolutely private reasons which has nothing to do with DOI!
“It’s hard enough to deal with a break up privately. So upsetting to see papers inventing stories not respecting ones privacy at all. Don’t believe all the b******!”
Barton Hanson’s comments come hours after she cheered on Nelson as he made his debut on the greatest show on ice, bagging himself top spot on the leaderboard with 25 points.
Nelson and Bauer were deemed a “beautiful looking couple” by head judge Christopher Dean, with the commentator also suggesting that the pair “look the perfect couple alright”.
Nelson previously alluded to the “chemistry” between him and Bauer in a pre-recorded segment which aired during the show.
“It’s important you have chemistry but not too much chemistry as I have a girlfriend,” he said.
Dancing on Ice is on ITV, Sunday at 6pm
