Megan Barton Hanson branded ‘immature’ after she slams Vanessa Bauer’s lack of respect on Loose Women

Megan Barton Hanson has been criticised by Loose Women viewers after she made her first live TV interview since lashing out at her boyfriend Wes Nelson’s Dancing on Ice partner in a scathing Instagram post.

Barton Hanson accused Bauer of being disrespectful after claiming she refused to make eye contact during Sunday night’s live show and has never invited her to watch them during rehearsals.

Barton Hanson, who met Nelson on Love Island last summer, said she wasn’t “drunk” when she shared the post, simply angry with Bauer’s alleged coldness.

“I feel as a woman she should reach out to me,” she said. “In Strictly they all meet the partners. It would be natural to go ‘do you want to invite Meg down?’ I didn’t feel like it was his place to invite me down and I turn up like the possessive girlfriend watching and monitoring.

“It would have gone along way if she’d said ‘hi Meg, how are you’ [on Sunday]. I put a post saying ‘good luck’ and she didn’t even say thank you. It’s a lack of respect.”

Viewers branded her “immature” as they criticised her for continuing the matter in a live TV interview, with one tweeting: “Is it me or is this Meg woman a total car crash? So it goes like this ... Boyfriend invites her to watch them train and she doesn't want to go. His dance partner doesn't invite her and does. Have a word with yourself.”

Another wrote: “Horrible, horrible attention-seeking woman! Why go public! #pathetic.”

A third posted: “I do like megan but right now she is looking a bit immature and bitchy.. you were invited down, stop causing an issue #loosewomen.”

Barton Hanson denied being “insecure” but admitted to being “jealous and selfish” because she wants to “be the one parading around dressed in sexy lycra dancing with [Nelson].”

Barton Hanson also criticised Bauer for announcing her split from her ex-boyfriend hours ahead of Nelson’s debut on the show, claiming it stole attention away from their dancing.

A spokesperson for Bauer told Loose Women: “Contrary to suggestions Vanessa didn’t announce her split she’s never discussed her private life and as always wants to stay focused on her professional commitments.”

She said she regrets sharing the since deleted Instagram statement and revealed she has reached out to Bauer.

Asked if she has received a reply, she said: “Hopefully we’re working on it. I don’t really want to comment.”
