Megan Barton Hanson accuses Dancing on Ice bosses of sabotaging Wes Nelson romance after pairing him with 'hottest' skater

Megan Barton Hanson has accused ITV of sabotaging her relationship with Wes Nelson by “pairing him with the hottest girl” on Dancing on Ice.

The former glamour model, who recently split with Nelson after they met on Love Island, blasted the show for “deliberately” putting him with Vanessa Bauer.

Barton Hanson accused Bauer of her not being inviting and of “tactically” announcing her split from her boyfriend just hours before her first skate with Nelson.

And now, in her first interview since the split, Barton Hanson has claimed that the producers knew what they were doing when they created the pairing and that Nelson “didn’t love her back”.

The 24-year-old told OK!: “The fact that the producers deliberately stirred things up by partnering Wes with the youngest, hottest girl annoyed me.

“I stick by my guns that Vanessa knew what she was doing posting that when she did; it was completely tactical.

“Also the judges making comments like Jason [Gardiner] saying that Wes and Vanessa made a ‘lovely couple’ was frustrating.”

Barton Hanson also told the publication that she “fought and fought” for Nelson and that she still loves him.

“Our ambitions and goals in life are very different - Wes is younger than me and wrapped up in the fame bubble - but I still love him, which is why it hurts so much. I fought and fought and fought for Wes but he doesn't love me back,” she said.

Announcing their split, Barton Hanson and Nelson vowed to “co-parent” their hamster, Jon Snow, but the furry critter has since been in and out of the headlines with allegations of Barton Hanson “kidnapping” him.

She joked that the two are set to fight a “custody battle” for him as she scolded Nelson for “not calling to find out how he is”.

Nelson missed out on the top spot on the Dancing On Ice leaderboard after his Peter Pan-themed skate, which saw him pull off the headbanger, failed to impress over James Jordan and Alexandra Schauman.

The couple scored a series high, receiving 36.4 points for their Sleeping Beauty themed routine.

ITV declined to comment when contacted by Standard Online.
