MegaCon Orlando 2020 canceled, will return March 2021

ORLANDO, Fla. _ After initially being pushed from April to June this year, MegaCon Orlando has announced it won't return for a full show until March 2021.

The larger-than-life convention for fans of comic books, sci-fi, anime and gaming attracts more than 100,000 people annually. Like many other festivals and events this year, MegaCon is feeling the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has prevented large crowds from gathering due to health concerns.

MegaCon organizers plan to offer a "limited edition" event during Halloween weekend, Oct. 30-Nov. 1, this year at the Orange County Convention Center. That event will be limited to 25,000 tickets.

Already purchased MegaCon Orlando admission tickets will be automatically transferred to MegaCon Orlando: Limited Edition. Fans who can't make it to the October event or otherwise don't wish to attend can request a refund by May 31. Special events and paid photo ops that were scheduled for MegaCon Orlando 2020 will be automatically refunded.

On MegaCon Orlando's website, event organizers also said they're working on the guest list for the October event and plan to announce the stars who will be appearing by Aug. 1.

MegaCon Orlando's full show is scheduled to return March 18-21, 2021.
