Megabonk Character Tier List

Megabonk is aroguelike that combines Vampire Survivors, Risk of Rain 2, and a hint of Dark Souls to give you a dopamine-filled experience every run. However, not all characters are made equal, as some dominate the leaderboards. Our Megabonk tier list breaks down which characters are dominating the meta.

B Monke, Ogre, Ninja, Noelle
C Athena, Vlad, Bandit, Fox, Spaceman, Sir Chadwell

S Tier – Best Meta Characters

Character Pros and Cons
Megabonk character icon dicehead
Dicehead
+ Dicehead is the most broken character in the game, currently taking all top spots in the Leaderboards.
+ Dice weapon provides permanent crit chance growth, enabling tons of powerful synergies.
+ Fits both curse-heavy and pure crit builds and becomes ridiculously overpowered once you get the right synergies going.
- Needs time to stack crit, and the early-game can be slow and difficult if your luck is bad.
Megabonk character icon cl4nk
CL4NK
+ CL4NK's Revolver plus Crit Happens passive delivers insane late-game damage as every level stacks crit chance.
+ Synergizes perfectly with Damage, Crit Damage, and Attack Speed tomes and items like Overpowered Lamp or Gym Sauce.
+ Shield adds safety for risky shrine farming.
- Painfully slow and fragile early, and XP farming is rough without Agility and Attack Speed tomes.
- CL4NK needs careful shrine and item planning to reach full crit potential.
Megabonk Robinette
Robinette
+ Robinette's Bow offers steady piercing damage and farming.
+ Stonks passive snowballs damage and gold gain the longer you hoard coins.
+ XP, Damage, Attack Speed, and Quantity tomes accelerate her scaling.
+ Great synergy with AoE backups like Aura, Bone, or Lightning Staff.
- Punishing if you overspend early as she gets a slow start if gold farming is weak.
- Robinette relies on shrine control and steady item drops to hit late-game power.
Megabonk character icon megachad
Megachad
+ Megachad's Aura is a natural nuke when you get enough size and cooldown upgrades.
+ Flex passive creates clutch invulnerability and stun windows.
- Low mobility makes early dodging harder until defenses scale.

A Tier – Strong Picks

Character Pros and Cons
Megabonk character icon calcium
Calcium
+ Speed Demon passive snowballs into top-tier DPS when unharmed.
+ Calcium has excellent synergy with Turbo Skates and speed-based on-hit builds.
+ Very fun to play.
- Speed reset on hit is punishing giving him a high skill floor.
Megabonk character icon tony mczoom
Tony McZoom
+ Tony McZoom has strong starting speed and “better Bone” weapon rival Calcium for mobility builds.
+ No fall damage and great with projectile-count tomes.
- Still lacks the sheer crit/gold scaling of S-tier picks.
- Tony McZoom as some unique mobility gimmicks unique to him that might take a bit longer to learn.
Megabonk character icon sir oofie
Sir Oofie
+ Sir Oofie's armor scaling makes him a tank king and forgiving starter.
+ Loves Lifesteal/Armor/HP regen combos.
- Sir Oofie falls off in damage late-game if you don’t itemize for AoE.
Megabonk character icon amog
Amog
+ Strong with poison + lifesteal combos (Moldy Cheese, Overpowered Lamp).
+ Amog can shred bosses with Blackhole + poison flask.
- Short bottle-throw range makes early waves dangerous without key items.
Megabonk character icon bush
Bush
+ Bullseye passive triggers explosions that delete packs and bosses.
+ Bush synergizes with precision/crit tomes.
- Requires excellent manual aim to reach full potential.
Megabonk character icon birdo
Birdo
+ Birdo starts with double jump and optional glide, for some great aerial mobility.
+ Tornado weapon can be very strong when paired with crit and size builds
- Birdo equires smart crit+size itemization to truly shine.
- Still rare in leaderboard meta and can feel weak if crit gear doesn’t drop.

B Tier – Decent Options

Character Pros and Cons
Megabonk monke
Monke
+ High jump and wall-climb create unique mobility; good with Banana size/quantity.
+ Monke has Bonus HP which adds stability.
- Scaling damage lags behind crit/gold builds.
Megabonk ogre
Ogre
+ Warrior passive grants steady +1% damage per level.
+ With Duration and Size tomes, spinning axes become excellent crowd control.
+ Ogre pairs well with AoE backups like Aura or Lightning Staff.
- Painfully slow and fragile early as he struggles to farm XP without key tomes.
- Ogre needs sustain and movement-speed items (e.g., Beefy Ring, Turbo Socks) to stay alive and keep scaling.
Megabonk character icon ninja
Ninja
+ Ninja has extremely high evasion potential and agile movement.
- Some boss skills ignore evasion, making the passive useless in Tier 3 Forest Boss and other high-end fights.
- Ninja requires heavy movement/jump investment to survive, which slows damage scaling.
Megabonk character icon noelle
Noelle
+ Potential support/regen role; could combo with armor regen builds.
- Feels undertuned compared to other much stronger characters.

C Tier – Weaker Characters

Character Pros and Cons
Megabonk character icon athena
Athena
+ Aegis can scale into a strong shield/damage engine with Attack Speed, Size, and Shield tomes.
+ Aura or Axe help stabilize and push Tier 2.
+ Athena's Shrine farming fuels late-game silver and buffs.
- Brutal early game—weak damage and slow start demand perfect positioning.
- Slow movement makes boss pylons and projectiles hard to handle.
- Athena is highly item/tome dependent; bad drops stall runs
Megabonk character icon vlad
Vlad
+ Blood Magic synergy can shine in long boss fights.
- Vlad is highly specialized; weak outside blood builds.
Megabonk bandit icon
Bandit
+ Fun but gimmicky primary weapon unless you invest a lot into Luck.
- Attack speed passive is situationally good with certain items and limits build variety.
- Bandit's lacklustre mobility means you'll have to pay a lot of attention to dodging.
Megabonk character icon fox
Fox
+ Fox can accidentally reach extreme speed via bunny-hop/slide mechanics for fun movement.
- Requires you to get very lucky with your builds and other characters would have much more success with the same builds.
- Fox is very fragile and not supported by strong builds.
Megabonk spaceman
Spaceman
+ Thematic blackhole weapon has crowd-control potential if heavily upgraded.
+ Supposed passive XP gain (but currently bugged to give silver)
- Extremely weak early game because Blackhole fires every 7 s with only 4 base damage, lasts 2 s, and quarters the Aura size.
- Slower than even Megachad with low-gravity jumps, feeling floaty and imprecise, making shrine/boss mechanics frustrating.
- One of the weakest unlocks, which makes it a struggle to clear T2.
Megabonk character icon sird chadwell
Sir Chadwell
+ Surprisingly smooth movement for a knight with decent mobility.
- Corrupted Sword is underpowered with a weak front slash.
- Feels very weak compared to tough unlock requirements, which is unsatisfying.
- Scaling lags far behind other characters, making late-game progression difficult.
