Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal still sparkle 30 years after When Harry met Sally

We’ll have what they’re having – because it’s clearly working wonders.

Actors Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal look impressively youthful 30 years after they starred in the hit film, When Harry Met Sally.

Meg, 57, and Billy, 71, were reunited at the TCM Classic Film Festival in Hollywood this week, where the 1989 romcom was screened.

The film features the iconic scene where Meg’s character Sally fakes an orgasm in a diner in New York, leading an elderly woman to tell a waiter: “I’ll have what she’s having.”

Fans of the hit film might be surprised to learn that its happy ending almost didn't make the cut.

When Harry Met Sally director Rob Reiner revealed last year that he didn't want the characters to become a couple.

Speaking to People's TV , Rob explained that he nearly let his own bad dating experiences cloud his judgement with the movie.

Take That say they'll follow in Elton John's footsteps by touring into old age

He said: "I was single for ten years and making a mess of my personal life, in and out of relationships and not being able to make anything work.

"The first draft of the script — or the draft we were going to shoot — Harry and Sally weren’t going to get together. They meet each other years later and then walk separate ways."

The script was written by Nora Ephron , who has also penned flicks such as You've Got Mail, Julie & Julia and Bewitched.

She is said to have drawn inspiration heavily from Rob's experience as a divorced, single man for the character of Harry.

However all that changed while they were filming the movie, as Rob met his future wife, Michele Singer.

This caused him to have a change of heart about the film's ending and ultimately he decided to let Harry and Sally live happily ever after.

"We changed the ending and this is what we came up with," he explained.
