The private life of Vladimir Putin remains shrouded in mystery with the Russian President keeping much about his personal affairs a secret.
This extends to the number of children he has, with the official number reportedly standing at two daughters.
The 69-year-old reportedly shares the girls with his ex-wife Lyudmila Ocheretnaya, a former air hostess whom he was married to for 30 years.
Maria Vorontsova, 35, is said to be the eldest daughter of Putin and his ex-wife Lyudmila.
Vorontsova studied biology at Saint Petersburg State University and is a graduate of medicine at Moscow State University in 2011.
She is an endocrinologist and has a career in medical research and is believed to be married to a Dutch businessman, Jorrit Faassen, with whom she has a family, which would make Putin a grandfather.
His other daughter, Yekaterina Tikhonova, is known by the family name of her maternal grandmother.
The 33-year-old enjoyed a career as a "rock’n’roll" dancer before leading a major new Russian artificial intelligence initiative.
Yekaterina was formerly married to Russia’s youngest billionaire, Kirill Shamalov, 38, though the pair have now divorced.
Tikhonova is the director of Innopraktika, a $1.7 billion development project to create a science centre at Moscow State University.
However, Putin has never acknowledged that the women are his kids, citing privacy concerns.
Despite this, it is reportedly an "open secret" in Russia that the women are Putin's offspring.
The Russian president is now rumoured to be in a relationship with Alina Kabaeva, a former Olympic rhythmic gymnast and MP.
