Meet the two Newcastle FIFA 19 players vying for Premier League title this week

Welcome to the ePremier League - the very first Esports edition of the Premier League.

Forty players, with 20 on Xbox and 20 on Playstation, will be representing each Premier League club in the ePL Final - and there can only be one winner.

The finals will be run today (Thursday) and Friday. with group games, followed by knockout rounds and finishing with the cross-console final.

Newcastle have two FIFA Esports players representing them in the ePL Final - one on Xbox and one on Playstation.

Jake 'PlanetToast' Shaw will be representing United on Xbox, whilst James 'JWG2kk' Greene will be representing the Mapgies on Playstation.

Here's what they had to say ahead of the ePremier League Final.

Jake 'PlanetToast' Shaw

"I'm excited, I'm looking forward to it," said Shaw.

"The first ever ePremier League representing my boyhood club, it doesn't really get any better than that.

"I've only recently played FIFA competitively, in the last 12 months.

"I've always played casually with my mates but this past year I've kicked on and I'm here now.

"I'll take it one game at a time and see what happens.

"When I saw the groups come out, and I was in a group with F2Tekkz, first tournament against the best in the world.

"It doesn't really get much better than that.

"Hopefully I can slip under the radar and emerge from the group.

"It means everything to represent Newcastle, the amount of support I've had has been completely unexpected.

"I hope I don't let them down!"

James 'JWG2kk' Greene

"Excited but a little bit of nerves, as I've never played on the big stage like this before, but I'm excited in general," said Greene.

"I started playing FIFA competitively about two years ago but this year, in FIFA 19, it's really taken off for me and I feel like I'm here now.

"I'm confident but I have to respect the other players, I just want to get out of the group and into the knockouts where anything can happen.

"Nobody knows how I'm going to play, I like to attack, score goals and get forward as much as possible.

"I want to progress more and more up the ladder and will probably start to make an impact more in FIFA 20."
