Meet the three lifelong friends who are moving in together during the coronavirus crisis

Three lifelong pals have decided to self-isolate together so they do not get lonely during the coronavirus crisis.

Pensioners Doreen, Dotty and Carol, who live in Salford, told BBC Breakfast they plan to spend their time together drinking wine and watching The Crown on Netflix.

The government is expected to announce those over 70 should self-isolate for three months from this weekend to protect them from catching COVID.

But Dorren, Dotty and Carol, have said they will self-isolate to avoid getting lonely while staying indoors.

The trio said they have stockpiled white wine (BBC Breakfast)

The trio said they have already helped each other through major like events like divorce and bereavements.

Presenter Jayne McCubbin, introducing them on Twitter, wrote: “Meet Doreen, Carol & Dotty. Three bezzies who can’t bear to self isolate alone so they’re moving in together.

"They told me they fear for the young who’ve lost jobs & the only thing they’re stockpiling? Cheap wine”.

The three friends said to keep each other safe they will self-isolate on their own for a week before moving into one of their homes.

“We'll have a week in our own homes in self-isolation and if we're still fit and well then we would decide which house to go and live in,” Doreen said.

At the moment they are still deciding which house will be best for the three month self-isolation period.

Dotty has a back garden, but Doreen said she has Netflix so they can keep entertained watching The Crown.

They said they will certainly have enough white wine to keep them going too.

“We’ll have a supply of wine in,” Dotty added.
