Don't believe that marijuana is a performance-enhancing drug? The septuagenarian pot queen of E. 24th St. begs to differ.
Gloria Ginsberg, 76, says she lifts weights, walks on a treadmill and smokes pot. A lot of it.
"I'm happier than a pig in (expletive)," Ginsberg told the Daily News. "I've still got it."
The Bronx native credits Mary Jane for making her "quicker" and "more clever," and claims that it "increases common sense."
More than ever, today's employers are realizing the importance of supporting various dimensions of their employees' well-being.
Ginsberg started smoking weed 50 years ago and dealt it out of her Kips Bay apartment for 45 years. She used to purchase it by the pound and still has the triple beam scale she used to weigh it. She also has lots of stories to tell, from wild sex parties to going to Yankee Stadium with her dad to see Mickey Mantle play.
"I have a small mouth but I'll talk you into the ground," Ginsberg said. "And marijuana ties into it all."
The ganja smoking golden-ager shares her spacious Manhattan pad with her three catnip-munching felines, who have their own indoor playground. Among her prized possessions are a four and a half foot tall wooden cat statue that was gifted to her by a pot dealer and a book that was autographed by The Mick. Ginsberg lives off of food stamps and abstains from booze, but is addicted to theater. She claims to have seen more than 300 Broadway shows.
Ginsberg is still politically active, harboring equal disdain for both Chuck Schumer and Donald Trump. She says they both lack common sense and would benefit from smoking the wacky tabacky. She does have a soft spot for John McCain, saying that the man represented "the good old days."
Today, Ginsberg sticks to a life of leisure. While fond of her past, nostalgia does not slow her down.
She currently spends her days flexing her eight-pound weights around the apartment building and, according to her doorman, "is on the lookout for the next agent she can get rich with."
