This incredible lady has lived through more than a century of huge social change.
She's seen two world wars, watched women get the vote and seen the country change beyond recognition from her childhood at the very beginning of the 20th century.
On Monday, "feisty, independent" Ellen Mellon celebrated reaching the impressive age of 105 in a joy-filled party at her Jesmond care home.
Family travelled from Scarborough to celebrate with her and her fellow care home residents and staff, as Ellen showed off the second card she's received from Her Majesty the Queen.
After hitting the impressive milestones of 100 and then 105, Ellen will be entitled to a card from Buckingham Palace every single year from now on.
Kathleen Burns, manager of Cestria House Residential Home, where Ellen has lived since last year, said: "It was a great day, Ellen thoroughly enjoyed it. She was the centre of attention and she loved every moment of it.
"She's an absolutely amazing lady - very feisty and so independent for her age."
Ellen's memory stretches back to the end of the First World War, when she was only a toddler. During the Second World War she did "lots of different jobs", supporting the war effort, before working as a secretary, and then getting married and bringing up her son, with whom she lived for many years until he died in 2018.
The 105-year-old, who enjoys socialising and trips out, was joined by family including her great niece and nephew at the celebration, which she enjoyed immensley.
Ellen said: "The party was fantastic, magnificent, and I was so pleased to see everyone."
