The New England Patriots have put together a very exciting draft class, with a franchise-altering pick in the first round round.
Yup, they took a quarterback, one that will compete with Cam Newton for the starting job in 2021 — but also the rookie could someday become the face of the franchise, ushering a new era after the departure of Tom Brady.
After taking that quarterback on day 1, Belichick addressed a pair of problems on defense on day 2, with a stout interior defender in round 2 and tweener edge player in round 3. Belichick even traded up to get ahold of the defensive tackle, a sign the Patriots coach thinks he presented great value at 38th overall. To kick off day 3, the Patriots took a running back. (Yes, another running back.)
