Meet Charlotte, Harry, George and Archie - the family whose kids all have royal names

All four children in a New Zealand family have royal namesakes by 'pure chance' - including 'Archie'.

Jo Stafford, from Otago, has revealed her children are called Charlotte, 11, Harry, nine, George, seven, and Archie, four.

She claimed it was just a complete 'fluke' and said she was inundated with messages from friends when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's baby's name was announced on Wednesday.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex named their newborn son, the seventh-in-line to the British throne, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

"It's a royal flush - what are the chances?" Jo told the Otago Daily Times.

"It was just a fluke. We've always just really loved those names.

"First, Prince George came along, then Princess Charlotte - which we thought was just a coincidence.

"But now Archie, "she said.

Meghan and Harry's first child was born at 5.26am on Monday weighing 7lbs 3oz.

The world waited excitedly for two days before finding out what they would name him.

In a statement posted on Instagram on Wednesday afternoon, the couple said: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are pleased to announce they have named their first born child: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

“This afternoon Their Royal Highnesses introduced Her Majesty The Queen to her eighth great-grandchild at Windsor Castle.

"The Duke of Edinburgh and The Duchess’ mother were also present for this special occasion."

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's son Archie WILL become a Prince, claims senior source

Archie's name wasn't the favourite according to the bookies, but it was on many top ten lists.

Meghan and Harry have picked just one middle name for their son, compared to George, Charlotte and Louis who have two each.

The name Archie is of English and Scottish origin, and is a shortened version of Archibald.

According to parenting website  BabyCentre , it's "composed of the Germanic elements ercan, meaning 'genuine' and bald, meaning 'bold' or 'brave'."
