Meet the Aintree Ladies Day 2019 Style Award winner - full interview

This year's Aintree Ladies Day Style Award winner has been announced and it is Sue Moon who will take home the prize from the most glamorous day of the Grand National .

Sue wowed the judges in a mustard mid-length coloured dress, which she paired with a black hat and black shoes.

The 54-year-old told the ECHO that although she attends Aintree every year, this was the first time she had entered the style competition.

Speaking to the ECHO team at the course this afternoon, Sue spoke about her shock and how it was her husband encouraged her to enter. She said: "Never in a million years [did she expect to win].

"He forced me, he said you have to enter it so I thought alright then, go on I will.  When I went into the shop because I always go to the same shop, I didn't have anything in my mind when I just went in.

"But she always brings me loads of dresses out and she brought this out and I just thought that's it. It's where the shoes and the bag are from too."

Hundreds of men and women spent the first part of their racing day queuing to get their pictures taken, so their outfits could be assessed by the judging panel.

The award was chosen by ITV Racing stylist, Sarah Kate Byrne, Jay Hynd and a representative from the official Style Award Partner, Chi Chi London.

Sue who travelled from Euxton with her husband and their friends today, shared with the ECHO the shop where she picked up her outfit.

She said: "It's Seasons in Clitheroe. I've been here [at Aintree] about four times before but I've never entered.

"I've always wanted one of these [a Range Rover]."

When asked how she'll be celebrating her win, she said: "With champagne, lots of it."

Sue is now the owner of a brand new Range Rover Evoque - worth £35,000 as well as a year's supple of Chi Chi London dresses.

Runners up Stacey Woodward, Luke Sugden, Kate Cook and Emma Wakelin will take home £100 vouchers for Chi Chi London and 20% discount codes will be shared with all Ladies Day racegoers.
