All of Taylor’s cats have been named after famous characters from movies and series - Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson, and Benjamin Button.
Meredith Grey
Let’s begin with Meredith Grey, the Scottish Fold, named after the female lead from the famous medical drama ‘Grey's Anatomy’. Meredith came into Taylor’s life in 2011. According to People, soon after her arrival, Taylor said, "She is awesome. She's, like, the most adorable cat in the world."
And the best part is that this love is not one-sided. Meredith has been seen meowing along to Taylor’s song, showing her love and support for her pet parent. Ever since her arrival, Meredith has been an active participant in Taylor’s social media game. She also appeared in her music video. Though there was a time when Meredith was seen absent from Swift’s feed, leaving the fans worried. However, the singer then shared a post to put all the worries and rumours to rest.
Olivia Benson
Next is Olivia Benson, another Scottish Fold, who made her way to Taylor’s home in 2014. She is named after the leading female character of ‘Law & Order: SVU.’ Just a year later, the feline pal of Swift got the chance to meet her namesake. "This is Olivia Benson meeting Olivia Benson, and um, things are going well so far," Taylor said in the video that captured the meet-cute.
Just like Taylor’s other Scottish Fold, Olivia, too, has faced the camera. She appeared not just in a music video but also in an ad with Taylor.
Benjamin Button
Last but not least comes Benjamin Button. This third cat became a part of Taylor’s life in 2019 and was named after one of Brad Pitt's fictional characters, Benjamin Button.’ With Benjamin, Taylor not only brought joy to her home but also diversity. As he is a Ragdoll cat. He met the cat lady on the set of the music video for ‘ME!’ He was the one to star with his sisters in the clip. Back then, he wasn’t officially a part of the Swift-cat clan. But that changed pretty quickly.
