Meet some of the babies born on Christmas Day at Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre

Say 'hello' to some of the adorable babies who were born on Christmas Day this year in Nottingham.

The year of 2021 has incredibly difficult for many across Nottinghamshire, and indeed the world, but some families on Christmas Day received the best gift possible.

Baby Isla Canny was delivered at the QMC and welcomed into the world by mum Samantha and dad Adam.

And Mum Juxhina Baha and dad Kleolian welcomed their baby boy into the world.

Their son, who they're still to name, was born at 9.59am.

The first baby of the day was delivered by midwife Evie Alliott just after midnight.

Speaking to Nottinghamshire Live on Saturday afternoon, Kelly Morley, labour suite co-ordinator at the Queen's Medical Centre, said there'd been six births so far.

"The first one was at 24 minutes past midnight," she said.

She explained how staff tended to celebrate Christmas during their shift, Ms Morley saying "there's always a great ambience on the labour suite".

"Everybody is in good spirits for the day because it's a joyous time to be part of a special occasion like a baby's birth," she said.

Food and drink are brought in for staff at Christmas and New Year, she explained.

And Ms Morley said the babies had been given a special Christmas gift.

She said: "All of our babies are getting a Christmas gift, those that are born they have had a Christmas hat, a blanket and a Christmas bauble from the QMC."
