Meet Nash: The baby who has secured a Guinness World Record

  • Nash Keen, born in Iowa City, Iowa, on 5 July 2024, has been officially recognised by Guinness World Records as the world's most premature baby.
  • He was born at just 21 weeks of gestation, 133 days earlier than his due date, and weighed only 10 ounces.
  • Nash spent six months in the neonatal intensive care unit at the University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children’s Hospital before going home in January.
  • His mother, Mollie Keen, described him as a happy, determined, and curious baby, despite his extended stay in the NICU.
  • Now over a year old, Nash continues to receive medical support, including oxygen and a feeding tube, but his progress is considered excellent given his extreme prematurity.
