Meet Laois hunk Eoghan Murphy who is ready to get pulses racing on Love Island Australia

Meet the Irish hunk set to get pulses racing on Love Island Australia.

Laois native Eoghan Murphy has been revealed as one of the eleven islanders looking for love on the Australian adaptation of the hit reality TV series.

The buff 23-year-old will enter the villa next week, hoping to follow in the footsteps of Irish rugby star Greg O’Shea who won the UK series with ex-girlfriend Amber Gill this summer.

Eoghan spend his childhood in Portlaoise before moving Down Under in 2006 and now works as a real estate agent in Gold Coast.

Opening up about his decision to sign up to Love Island ahead of the show’s premiere on Monday, Eoghan revealed he’s looking for romance after splitting up with his long term girlfriend 18 months ago.

Murphy insisted that despite his bad boy appearance, he’s “truthful, honest and loyal” when it comes to dating.

Speaking ahead of the series kick off on “My values are a lot more old fashioned than what are floating around today.

“I treat women the right way. I was raised by a single mum.“I was in a relationship from when I was 14 up until last year. A lot of girls do look at me and think I’m a player but I’m truthful, honest and I’m loyal.”

When asked about his ideal woman, Eoghan said he’s looking for “a brunette who is fun, not rude, polite and extremely ladylike”.

He added: "I want to put her on a pedestal like she is the only girl in the world."

Love Island Australia, which is broadcast on Aussie network Channel Nine, is narrated by RTÉ broadcaster Eoghan McDermott, who has taken a break from his 2FM radio duties while the series is being filmed in Fiji.

Love Island winner Greg O’Shea will be filling in for McDermott on the airwaves over the coming weeks, joining Doireann Garrihy for their breakfast show.
