Meet adorable Liam Gaga - one of the first babies born in Nottingham on Christmas Day 2019

A Beeston mum said she received the "perfect gift" when she gave birth to her son on Christmas Day.

Alexandra Gaga, 30, gave birth to her son Liam on her due date at 12.31am, December 25.

Liam weighed 7.7lbs and was born on ward C29 at the Queen's Medical Centre.

His mum Alexandra told Nottinghamshire Live: "He is the perfect Christmas gift, I am so happy.

"I was told his due date was Christmas Day but I didn't think that was going to happen until I suddenly went into labour at around 6pm on Christmas Eve. It all went so quickly."

Liam will be going home to an older brother, Darko, six, and his dad Silviu, 30. Alexandra and Silviu have been married for seven years.

"The labour was around six hours, my other son's was 12 so this was a lot easier," added Alexandra, who works as a carer at Broadgate care home in Beeston.

"My family are in Romania and I think they will come over to visit us for his christening. I am going to spend Christmas relaxing and seeing my friends.

"Myself, my husband and now my son were all born in December."

Liam was resting in a blanket when visited by Nottinghamshire Live and wearing a red wool hat that was given to his mum by her midwife.
