World No.4 Daniil Medvedev concedes his busy Australian Open build-up has been far from ideal but is committed to leading Russia in Sunday's ATP Cup final.
Medvedev overcame Alexander Zverev 3-6 6-3 7-5 at Melbourne Park on Saturday to help Russia advance with a 2-1 win over Germany.
They will face Italy, who thrashed Spain 3-0, in the final of the teams event.
Medvedev is already eyeing his meeting with Canada's Vasek Pospisil in the Australian Open first round but won't pull out of ATP Cup duties to rest for Tuesday's clash.
"The preparation, you cannot be hundred per cent," Medvedev said.
"For some people it's good, somebody will be ready better, somebody will be worse.
"I'm just trying to do (the) best I can to be (one) hundred percent first for (the) ATP Cup and then Australian Open.
"Let's see how it goes."
Medvedev, who turns 25 on Thursday, was a semi-finalist at last year's US Open, where he lost to eventual champion Dominic Thiem.
The Russian right-hander has reached the Australian Open fourth round in each of the last two years and is still chasing his first grand slam title.
"Winning my first grand slam will be (an) amazing feeling," he said.
"If my best will be first round, we never know. I lose sometimes, it's normal.
"I just do my best and I see how it goes. Hopefully my best can be good."
