Medical, nursing colleges to reopen: Odisha govt

BHUBANESWAR: The state government on Wednesday allowed reopening of all medical colleges and other institution of teaching like nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy and occupational therapy, public health and other paramedical/allied medical science course in Odisha during this declining phase of the pandemic.

According to the health and family welfare department, theory classes will be continued online, but practical or clinical classes and examination should be conducted in small groups with 50% capacity, to ensure social distancing.

The students must submit written permission from their parents or guardians. The institution should mak provision for screening of the student for Covid symptoms while entering the practical halls or clinical wards.

The institutions will segregate fully vaccinated and unvaccinated or partly vaccinated students in different batches for clinical and practical classes.

Partly vaccinated or unvaccinated students will not be allowed to the library.
