The Cook County medical examiner’s office confirmed Tuesday that 46 more people have died of coronavirus-related causes, including a 32-year-old woman who had no other conditions that contributed to her death.

Jasslyn Saffold, of Chicago Heights, died of a novel coronavirus infection Monday at Franciscan Health in Olympia Fields, according to the medical examiner’s office. An autopsy did not reveal any underlying conditions that played a role in her death.

The adults confirmed dead Tuesday ranged from 32 to 96 years old, the medical examiner’s office said.

In total, 291 people in Cook County have died of the coronavirus, making up over 75% of the statewide tally. On Tuesday, Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced 380 people in Illinois have died due to COVID-19.
