Media Talk: To live and die in the public eye

Jade Goody's battle with terminal cancer has been played out in the most public manner for the last month or so, and on this week's Media Talk, we analyse the role of Max Clifford in turning this personal tragedy into a media event. Libby Brooks is on hand to answer whether it's just middle-class media watchers who have a problem with Jade's 'death in close-up'.

Also in the podcast, John Plunkett rounds up the week's radio stories, including the appointment of Ben Cooper as Andy Parfitt's number two at Radio 1, and the prospects of commercial radio launching a DAB competitor to Radio 4.

Plus, James Robinson reacts to the BBC changing the relocation package for employees heading to Salford.

Finally, we look back on the Brit Awards and ask whether this year's hapless hosts - that'll be Kylie and the chaps from Gavin and Stacey - were the new Mick Fleetwood and Sam Fox.

Post your comments on the blog below, or ignore the warnings from the Daily Mail and join our Facebook group. There'll be some Twittering soon - Emily Bell's on the case...
