Media Talk: The David Laws saga

Matt Wells is joined in the studio by Dan Sabbagh and Paul Robinson for this week's Media Talk.

We begin by looking at the David Laws saga. So much for the new politics - it took less than three weeks for the first minister to resign from the coalition, following revelations about the now former Treasury secretary's expenses (and private life). Political commentator Jenni Russell gives her thoughts.

Also in the podcast, TalkSport programme director Moz Dee tells us why a
World Cup summer is so crucial for his station. (We'll have our own daily football podcast throughout the tournament giving him a run for his money.)

Plus, we discuss the race to replace Mark Damazer as the controller of BBC Radio 4; ITV's appointment of Fru Hazlitt; and reflect on the the sad – but probably not overdue – end of Last of the Summer Wine, which is coming to an end after 37 years and 31 series. There's also a heated and entirely unexpected debate about Eurovision.
