Media Talk podcast: What will a Viacom-owned Channel 5 look like?

John Plunkett is joined by Folder Media's creative director Matt Deegan and the director of Broadcasting at London's City University, Lis Howell, to discuss the week's top media stories, including analysis of Viacom's successful bid for Channel 5. It's a good deal for previous owner Richard Desmond, but also for BSkyB's sales house.

Then there's the other US takeover story of the week: All3Media's sale to Liberty Media - but there's little enthusiasm in the studio that this is the beginning of a trend.

Also in the programme, Labour MP and former culture secretary Ben Bradshaw discusses the future of the BBC Trust now that Lord Patten has stepped down as its chairman.

All that, plus discussion on Radio 2's pop-up DAB station dedicated to this year's Eurovision Song Contest, the annual health check on Channel 4 and Vicky Frost makes a welcome return to the podcast.
