Media Talk podcast: BBC bias swings both ways

Hugh Muir takes us through some of the media stories making the headlines this week, including the news following Grant Shapps comments about the BBC that more people believe the corporation favours the left than the right and the latest on the government's softening stance on press regulation.

On the panel are Lis Howell, director of broadcasting at City University, and creative director of Folder Media, Matt Deegan. Together they discuss Ben Cooper's new cross-platform strategy at Radio 1 and ask the question, 'what is the first thing you touch in the morning?' The answer may surprise you.

There's more ratings woe for ITV and The X Factor as last weekend's shows were beaten again by Strictly Come Dancing, and there's a celebration of Kay Burley as she completes 25 years on Sky News.

Plus, Sam Wollaston reviews series two of The Choir on BBC 2 and series three of Fresh Meat on Channel 4.
