Media Talk for Friday August 29

Back to our normal time this week as we recover from Edinburgh - Steve Hewlett and Maggie Brown are in the pod to pick over the leftovers from the TV festival. Plus, erstwhile Media Talk producer Ben Green is over in Denver for the Democratic National Convention, and he reports on the media circus surrounding the event.

Back in Edinburgh, Brian Elsley, the creator of the hit teen drama Skins, talks about his new project aimed at younger children, and gives his views on the state of British TV drama.

And we pick up the stories we missed while we were away in August - including the reports that Channel 4 is planning to launch a slimmed-down digital service on Global Radio's platform instead of starting its own.

Plus Gareth McLean is back to run his eye over the autumn TV schedules.
