A magistrate has banned the media from attending the hearing of an Adelaide teenager accused of sexual offences against two high school students.

The 18-year-old man — who can't be identified for legal reasons — faced the Adelaide Youth Court on Friday charged with unlawful sexual intercourse with a person under the age of 17, sexual intercourse without consent and engaging in sexual intercourse after consent was withdrawn.

The offences allegedly occurred in May 2019, December 2020, and February this year, when the man was aged 16 and 17.

Court documents revealed the man's bail conditions prohibit him from leaving his western suburbs home between 9:00pm and 6:00am – unless attending his job at a fast-food outlet – and approaching or having any contact with the alleged victims.

But Magistrate Ted Luliano refused the media from attending the hearing.

South Australia's Department for Education had previously said in a statement that the alleged incidents involved public school students and occurred off-site and outside of school hours.

The matter will return to court in July.
