Mecole Hardman provides helping hand to children with special needs

Recently, the Kansas City Star published an article chronicling Kansas City Chiefs and former UGA wide receiver Mecole Hardman’s love of helping out children with special needs.

Hardman meets up with kids battling disorders through the Friends Helping Friends organization, which is set up in Elbert Country, Georgia.

Throughout his college career with the Dawgs, Hardman would constantly accompany the kids to Braves games, the Fox Theater, and other outings.

“Those kids, they don’t see me as Mecole the football guy: ‘Oh, he’s in the league,’ or, ‘He’s doing good,’” Hardman said, according to the article. “They just see me as Mecole, the loving guy. They just see me for me, as myself.”

Hardman’s charitable work around the Georgia community does not go unnoticed and is sure to continue as he takes the next step into his NFL career.
