Trains on Metra’s Union Pacific Northwest Line are running with delays during Friday’s morning commute because of mechanical problems.

Outbound train 603, which was scheduled to arrive in McHenry at 7:30 a.m., is running 35 minutes behind schedule because of earlier mechanical issues, according to service alerts from Metra.

As of 7:55 a.m., inbound train 632, originally scheduled to depart McHenry for Ogilvie Transportation Center, was still awaiting a delayed departure because of the delays to the earlier train, Metra said.

Metra is advising riders to listen to platform announcements or check the transit agency’s website for the latest service information.
