A 'courteous' mechanic has died after being crushed by a van he was working under on a Scots street.
Police have said Dariusz Zamylko has now died from the injuries he sustained in the horror crush on Ferry Road, Montrose last Thursday.
We told how emergency crews raced to the scene around 4.10pm to try and rescue the 43-year-old.
He had been working on the vehicle at the time when it is understood to have moved and hit a car, leaving Dariusz trapped underneath.
Paramedics rushed him to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee where he was said to be in a 'serious but stable condition'.
Sadly he died in hospital from his injuries yesterday
In 2014 Dariusz applied to Angus Council for a second hand selling licence for his business W Motors based on the town's Ferry Road.
The firm was highly regarded with one review online reading: "Excellent service, can't do enough for you. Extremely knowledge labor. courteous and would bend over backwards to help you
"Reliable, trust worthy, great knowledge. Excellent customer skills."
Police announced his death in a statement.
A spokesman said: "Police in Montrose can confirm that a 44-year-old man has died after becoming trapped under a vehicle around 4.10pm on Thursday, 22 April on Ferry Road.
"He can be named as Dariusz Zamylko from Montrose.
"Dariusz was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, where he died on Wednesday, 28 April."
