Meath primary school contacts parents after positive coronavirus case

A primary school in Co Meath has contacted parents to inform them there has been a positive cases amongst students.

The school got in touch with parents with information from the HSE after a student was confirmed to have tested positive for the virus.

The letter, seen by Dublin Live, said that a case of COVID-19 in the school had been identified and reported to the Health Protection Team.

It reads: "A public health risk assessment has been undertaken and the parents of children deemed to be close contacts of the confirmed case have been contacted and advised accordingly.

"If your child has not been identified as a close contact at this time, your child does not need a test for COVID-19 and may continue to attend school."

Three schools in Dublin, two in Kerry, one in Clare and now one in Meath have all had to inform parents about a positive case of the virus in either staff or students.

This is the first full week schools have been open since the global pandemic forced their closure in March.
