MeatEater Partners With Can-Am, As Powersports Becomes More Integral To Hunting

You cannot go into the deer, elk, or whatever critter you're after woods without running into folks using and utilizing side-by-sides. Like GPS mapping software such as onX, good rifles and bows, or a good pair of boots, UTVs are now a part of hunting life. And they make life oh so much easier when you're trying to get away from civilization.

One of the biggest names in the space, and for conservation, is that of Steve Rinella's MeatEater empire. The brand, which now encompasses a host of hunting companies—from calls to apparel to cuisine to books, and even branded rifles—is known the world over for being one of the biggest go-to destinations within the hunting and conservation communities.

And while they've had a more informal partnership with the good folks over at Can-Am in recent years, the two have inked a far bigger partnership that'll put the brand's powersport machines to work in a far more meaningful way, aiming to give Can-Am dominance in the hunting world as the go-to machines for anyone who dons camouflage.

According to the release, the new partnership will see the MeatEater crew, including Rinella, exclusively use Can-Am side-by-sides and ATVs on their adventures into the wild, and represents a deeper relationship than in past years. That also includes during the 13th season of the brand's television series which airs on a host of networks and streaming platforms, including YouTube.

"I've been using and recommending Can-Am products for years, and I'm excited to hit the trails this winter on my Ski-Doo snowmobile," said Steven Rinella ahead of the announcement, adding, "This partnership makes perfect sense for MeatEater, because it's built on a genuine love for the equipment."

Can-Am's Jeremi Doyon-Roch, Marketing Director for Can-Am Off-Road, added, "At Can-Am, we build ATVs and SSVs that help people go farther into the wild, and this partnership with MeatEater is about making sure those wild places remain open, respected, and enjoyed for generations to come. As one of the most authentic voices in the hunting and outdoor community, MeatEater is the perfect partner for Can-Am to showcase the versatility and real-world applications of our machines.”

I've been using my own Can-Am Maverick X3 for hunting purposes for three years now, and it's never failed me. But even in that short time, I've seen side-by-side adoption in the field explode, as more and more folks replace their trucks for UTVs they can pick up for cheap and put away wet or bloody. It makes total sense for brands like MeatEater and Can-Am to further that relationship.

Here's hoping we can do some things with the two brands in the near future.
