Meat tasters, dog-friendly holidays and more: Here are five unusual jobs in Dublin that you can apply for right now

It can be easy to get stuck in a rut, bouncing from boring job to boring job where you find yourself clock-watching as soon as you get in the door in the morning.

If you can relate your working life to that description, then maybe it's time to shake things up and try something  totally new.

To help you on your way, we've compiled a list of five of the more unusual jobs on offer in Dublin right now.

Meat Taster

 

The Teagasc Food Research Centre in Ashtown, Dublin 15 are currently recruiting candidates to join their panel of meat tasters.

Successful candidates will join the panel of meat sensory tasters, who will taste and evaluate meat for a major national project - Meat Technology Ireland.

Candidates must be available for a two-hour screening session in October. Those who pass the screening must be available most weeks for two mornings to attended two-hour tasting sessions between 10am and 12pm.

Wine Buff

Stephen's Green restaurant Peploe's Wine Bistro are looking for a Wine Buff for an immediate start.

Candidates should have excellent knowledge of French and Italian wines and have a good knowledge of stock control, ordering, cleaning and working at a busy city centre wine bar.

The successful recruit must also have a strong knowledge of old world wines, be a trained barist and have excellent English.

Holiday Stylist

Clothing store AllSaints are recruiting a Holiday Stylist to cover the busy Christmas period from October 1 to January 2.

The majority of the day will be spent on the busy shop floors, greeting and styling customers from all over the world, helping to select the perfect gift for clients during the festive season.

There will also be an opportunity to gain some experience in visual merchandising and general store operations.

All applicants must have the right to work in the EU and be willing to be available on key dates such as Black Friday, Christmas Eve and Boxing Day.

Buymie Shopper

Buymie is an on-demand grocery delivery app that serves the greater Dublin area and commuter towns.

The service allows customers to order from their favourite grocery stores and get their shopping delivered in as little as an hour.

Buymie shoppers can choose their own hours and and can earn between €8 and €18 per hour, excluding tips.

Applicants must live in greater Dublin are, have consistent access to a car or van and a full drivers license, have access to a smartphone and be able to lift 15kg.

Dog-friendly vacations reviewer

Snaptrip are looking for two dogs with exquisite taste to join their owners in their dog-friendly properties across the UK.

The owners and their discerning pups will be asked to review the holiday homes in places such as Cornwall, Wales and the Lake District.

The reviewers will visit 10 properties over 12 months, all expenses paid, and receive £300 per 500-word review.

The properties must be judged on dog enjoyment, dog practicality, access to local walks and dog-friendly establishments like pubs and garden spaces.
