A thug who attempted to murder a teenager was jailed for seven years yesterday.
Allan Brown repeatedly hit Reece Talbot, 18, with a meat cleaver during the brutal assault in Holytown, Lanarkshire, in July 2018.
The construction worker, 32, who pled not guilty, was convicted after a trial of assaulting Reece to his severe injury, permanent disfigurement and to the danger of his life, and attempting to murder him.
Sentencing Brown at the High Court in Edinburgh, judge Lord Burns said: “For reasons only you know, you deliberately targeted Mr Talbot.”
He ordered that Brown be kept under supervision for three years after his release.
