'Means business' - Arsenal fans notice what has happened to Gabriel Martinelli during suspension

Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli has taken to social media to give an insight into his training routine amid the Premier League suspension.

There has now been no Premier League football for over a month due to the coronavirus pandemic around the world.

The outbreak has also meant that players are unable to take part in training sessions at the London Colony training centre as usual.

Therefore, the responsibility of keeping up their fitness routine and maintaining their match fitness falls on the shoulders of the players themselves.

It seems that it is something Martinelli is taking very seriously. The young Brazilian has impressed in his first season at Arsenal and will be looking to carry on from where he left off when the season returns.

The 18-year-old posted a picture on his Instagram account of him using weights along with a caption reading: “Stay healthy.”

The picture drew a response from Arsenal fans on Twitter, with many noticing how the forward has bulked up over the four-weeks without football.

Fans took to the social media platform to voice their excitement at seeing the teenager back in an Arsenal shirt when football returns.

Here is what they had to say.

Martinelli arrived at the Emirates stadium in the summer and has broken into the first team, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists in his first 26 appearances for the club.

The Brazilain earned praise from fellow summer arrival Kieran Tierney, with the Scotsman naming Martinelli as a player who has caught his eye in training this season.

“When I first did a full training session with the team I was put up against him and the intensity of his play was honestly mind-blowing and I thought to myself, "This is the standard I need to be at to play for Arsenal,” he said.
