Meadows Festival: June dates set for free party in Edinburgh park

The Meadows Festival will be returning this summer as the southside park hosts its annual free party.

Dates of June 6 and 7 have been set, with organisers at the volunteer-led event urging music acts to apply for the main stage.

Founded in 1974, the Meadows Festival is a completely free and volunteer-run annual event featuring everything from live music, a dedicated kids' area, a dog show hosted by the Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home to sports, performers and Edinburgh's largest outdoor market.

You can expect plenty of street food stalls and pop-ups from local eateries.

Applications to play on the main stage at the festival open on Monday, February 10.

Last year's event had an open learning area for children, with martial arts and storytelling sessions.

Organisers have also appealed for volunteers, saying: "The festival is wholly run by local people and we're always looking for people to help us."
