MD Fitness keep spirits high as Coolock pair's free online classes prove huge hit

A North Dublin pair helped keep the sprits high over the lockdown as their free online fitness classes have proved a huge hit.

As many businesses shut up shop over the pandemic many have been finding creative ways to keep going - while this pair have opted to give back to their community and let everyone get involved

Coolock pair Michael Keogh and Mark Mitchell have been streaming live workouts from MD Fitness and people from all over Dublin have been tuning in to follow along.

As we approach the easing of restrictions, the success stories are starting to emerge as their enthusiastic gym bunnies are reporting the physical and mental benefits of taking part.

Two "RT24" classes were going on on Tuesdays and Thursdays a week as well as kettlebell workout every second Saturday - and a Facebook group was made so anyone could join in.

Jennifer O'Sullivan was one woman who loved the workouts and she thanked the lads for helping her "achieve amazing results during lockdown. Physically and mentally."

She said: "Working through this time was hard enough and these two done these in their own time. Will recommend them all day long."

Karen Dixon was another who thanked them saying the eight weeks of classes "really kept us all motivated through these crazy times. We won't forget the kindness for the free classes. It meant a lot."

Like all good things, it came to an end this week as the lads are now gearing up to bring the face-to-face sessions back in the near future.

Mick said he's hoping everyone stays on the boat, and that business will see a few new faces down at their base in Ekland Park off Priorswood Road when it's safe to open.

He also wanted to give a big shoutout to Dublin legend DJ Pressure who provided the expertly crafted mixes to help keep them pumped up throughout the whole thing.
