Greenwood, Bailly, Wan-Bissaka: Latest Man United injury updates and team news ahead of Arsenal

Manchester United warmed up for their clash against Arsenal this weekend with a sensational 5-0 win over RB Leipzig.

Marcus Rashford came off the bench to net a hat-trick, whilst there were also goals from Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial.

Next up, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side welcome Arsenal to Old Trafford, with both sides aiming to return to winning ways in the Premier League.

With that in mind, here is the latest Manchester United injury news.

Manchester United's Alex Telles tests positive for Covid-19

Alex Telles

Alex Telles was absent for the Chelsea and RB Leipzig games, and it has now been confirmed that the defender has tested positive for coronavirus.

“He’s been out now for a little while,” Solskjaer told MUTV after the win over Leipzig. “He’s tested positive for the coronavirus. But he has no symptoms; he’s fine and we can’t wait to get him back.”

Eric Bailly

Manchester United have confirmed that defender Eric Bailly will be out of action for up to a month with a muscle injury.

Solskjaer confirmed to Man Utd.com after the Paris Saint-Germain match last week that Bailly - who has suffered from a variety of injury problems during his time at United - will now be out of action until the November international break.

Mason Greenwood

Greenwood started against RB Leipzig and capped off a good display by scoring the opening goal.

The teenager was substituted in the second half but this was a tactical decision and the England international should be in contention to start against Arsenal.

Anthony Martial

The United striker serves the last of his three-match domestic ban for the red card he received against Tottenham before the international break.

Martial was shown a straight red card after VAR deemed his slap on Erik Lamela as violent conduct.

Jesse Lingard

Another player who will miss the Arsenal clash is Jesse Lingard, who is suffering from an unspecified problem.

Phil Jones

Phil Jones is also out, with the centre-back having been ruled out since the summer with a knee injury.

“Phil has been following an individualised training programme during the post-lockdown period to optimise recovery from a knee problem,” Solskjaer said in August.

Elsewhere, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba started against RB Leipzig, but were substituted during the game. However, these were purely tactical decisions from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the trio should be available for the Arsenal game.
