McLaren supercar driver's 'mistimed overtake' sends family crashing into field

A supercar driver who attempted a "mistimed overtake" ended up sending a family crashing into a nearby field.

The incident – which involved a black McLaren 720S and a red Ford Focus – is understood to have taken place yesterday afternoon (Monday, May 24) on the B6118 at Grange Moor, West Yorkshire.

Nobody was seriously hurt in the crash, but it is believed the Ford was carrying a family with a six-month-old baby, reports YorkshireLive.

Pictures show the Ford on its side in a field and the McLaren with a damaged bumper.

The driver of the McLaren has been reported for careless driving, police confirmed.

The supercar costs upwards of £215,000 and has the potential to reach a top speed of 212mph.

A police spokesperson said: “The driver of this Maclaren [sic] mistimed an overtake sending the other car into a field.

“Luckily only minor injuries.

“The driver has been reported for driving without due care and attention.”
