McKinley Park burglar gains entry by force: police

After entering, the burglar took property then fled, Chicago police said.

Four burglaries were reported in May, according to Chicago police.

Police are warning McKinley Park residents on the Southwest Side to secure their homes and repair broken locks after several residential burglaries were reported in May.

In each incident, the burglar used force to gain entry to the home or garage and took property before fleeing, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

The burglaries occurred:

  • Between 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., May 10 in the 3600 block of South Seeley Avenue;
  • At 11:30 p.m., May 12 in the 3500 block of South Paulina Street;
  • Between 6 a.m., May 16 and 6 p.m., May 23 in the 3600 block of South Hoyne Avenue; and
  • At 5 a.m., May 28 in the 3500 block of South Hoyne Avenue.

Police did not provide a description of any suspects.
