Mckenzie Laughlin: Edinburgh police search for missing 23-year-old not seen for two weeks

Police in the Lothians have launched a missing person appeal to trace a local 23-year-old not seen for weeks.

Mckenzie Laughlin has been missing from her home address in Midlothian since July 1 at around 5pm, with officers keen to track her whereabouts.

Currently living in Penicuik, Mckenzie was last seen there on July 1, but she had been in contact "over the phone" up until July 13.

However, the 23-year-old has not been heard from since this date, with police now growing increasingly concerned.

Mckenzie described as a white female, slim build, 23 years old with shoulder length blonde hair.

In an appeal on Tuesday (July 19), Midlothian police stated that they believe Mckenzie may have travelled into the Leith area of Edinburgh.

A statement read: "Officers are looking to trace Mckenzie Laughlin, 23, missing from her home address in Penicuik. She was last seen in Penicuik on 1st July 2021 about 5pm.

" Since then she has been in contact over the phone but has not been in phone contact since 13th July 2021.

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police on 101 quoting incident number 2607 of 12th July 2021."
