A drunk lashed out at a ticket inspector after being told he could not board a bus in Paisley.
Police were called to Central Way in the town yesterday morning after a man lashed out at the McGill’s employee working on board one of the company’s buses.
Police say the man had been told he was not allowed to board the bus in the town centre as he was drunk, but upon being told this he became abusive.
They say he lashed out and attempted to punch the inspector - who was working on board the vehicle - twice and then kicked him before leaving the bus.
The employee was left distressed following the incident but did not sustain any injuries.
McGill’s said it has a zero tolerance approach to people abusing staff, and has branded the incident which took place on Wednesday morning as “reprehensible” and “intolerable”.
