April 13--Longtime Chicago advertising executive Tim Scott is stepping down as president of McGarryBowen Chicago to become chief marketing officer at dairy giant Land O'Lakes, the company said Monday.
Scott joins Minnesota-based Land O'Lakes on April 22. Land O'Lakes produces a variety of dairy products, livestock feed and agricultural products, and is the No. 1 butter brand in the U.S.
"Tim brings deep expertise in working with global brands and brand teams -- skills that will play a central role in this next chapter of our Land O'Lakes growth story," Chris Policinski, president and CEO of Land O'Lakes, said in a statement.
Scott has led the Chicago office of McGarryBowen since 2009, adding the role of international CEO for the advertising agency in 2013. Previously, Scott was at DDB Chicago.
McGarryBowen, which is based in New York, opened its Chicago office in 2007.
"I am grateful and proud of the work Tim has done to build our brand, first in Chicago and then around the world," Gordon Bowen, agency co-founder, chairman and chief creative officer, said in a statement. "He is a dear friend, trusted leader, and mentor to many. We are very grateful for his contributions, and we wish him a lifetime of luck and success in his future endeavors."
Laurel Flatt, who heads up Disney and other key accounts at McGarryBowen Chicago, will serve as interim general manager until a permanent successor is named, an agency spokeswoman said.
Bowen will take over Scott's international role for now, the company said.
