McFly's Saturday Night Takeaway performance angers fans as they declare band 'deserve better'

McFly fans have flooded Twitter with complaints about the band's appearance on Saturday Night Takeaway.

After a tweet from the ITV show confirmed the Obviously and All About You hitmakers as the End of the Show Show guests for this weekend, there was a lot of excitement about their performance.

However, their fanbase, who were hoping for a greatest hits medley, were let down as Danny, Tom, Harry and Dougie took part in a rather bizarre sketch which made it seem like they were doing a virtual performance before they stepped out of the screen and onto the stage to sing their recent single Happiness.

As the music was playing, hosts Ant and Dec became 'trapped' in the screen as their Takeaway co-star spoke over the track and McFly fans who tuned into specially to see the lads were fuming and wasted no time in airing their anger on social media.

One tweeted: "Saturday Night Takeaway: MCFLY ARE ON THE END OF THE SHOW SHOW Also Saturday Night Takeaway: shows McFly for about 10 seconds in the end of the show show."

Sharing in their frustrations, another blasted: "waited all week to see mcfly on Saturday night takeaway ..... what the heck was that we saw them for like 30 seconds" and a third reacted: "Did I just watch an hour and a half long show to see 10 seconds of McFly and not even be able to hear them sing"

And taking things further, a fourth ranted: "hi Saturday night takeaway, can I ask where mcfly was please? I & millions of other people just saw Ant & Dec and Stephen for 97% of MCFLYS performance. I demand them do re do the performance next week"

Not so irate viewers were quick to praise the cleverness behind McFly's performance, with one commenting: "Loved the McFly ending to the show - very clever.
