McFly rerecord All About You with epic family video in emotional support of NHS

McFly's Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd have done their bit to raise money to support the NHS.

The All About You singers appeared on The One Show on Thursday to drop big news, that they had rerecorded the hit and dedicated it to all the frontline health workers amid the coronavirus pandemic.

After an exclusive announcement had been teased a day earlier, the boys showed the new music video recorded at their homes, with their families also involved.

With cameos from Tom's kids Max, Buzz and Buddy, and Harry and Danny's children too - not to forget Dougie's chickens - the boys and their loved ones shared their support amid the NHS staff tackling COVID-19.

Amid increasing support for the service and charities associated with it, Tom explained how they wanted to show their thanks and own backing for all those risking their lives.

Fans tuning in witnessed he and Harry encouraging viewers to buy and stream the song, raising as much money as they could for the cause.

In the video, NHS staff also appeared, with viewers finding the tribute very moving.

One viewer tweeted: "Mcfly made me cry!" as another commented: "That McFly video was adorable."

It comes after Harry, Tom, Dougie and Danny were forced to postpone gigs due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Such appearances included a new tour across the country in April and May, but COVID-19 restrictions led to the shows being postponed until later in the year.

The boys had been confirmed to be making an announcement on the show the night before.

The Twitter account for The One Show said: "That's it from us tonight! Back tomorrow where the boys from @mcflymusic will be here with an exclusive surprise."

Hosts Alex Jones and Gethin Jones also announced the news at the end of Wednesday's show.

Fans went into meltdown over the mystery news, with McFly retweeting the appearance to their own Twitter account.

Speculation fuelled over whether there could be a new album or track on the way.

The One Show airs weeknights at 7pm on BBC One.
